At present, most of the synthesis of water-based isocyanate curing agents are modified by isocyanate grafting reaction by introducing hydrophilic non-ionic ether alcohol and anionic sulfamate to form hydrophilic isocyanate terminated prepolymer. On the surface, it is still a simple basic reaction between -NCO and -OH or -NH2, but even if the same basic raw materials are used, the synthesized water-based isocyanate curing agent still has some problems compared with imported well-known brands, such as poor miscibility and dispersion in aqueous phase, poor permeability, low gloss and fullness, and poor water, chemical and scratch resistance. Moreover, the batch viscosity is unstable, and the viscosity increases continuously or even solidifies during storage. CUCAT-U2 is developed to solve the above problems.

The water-based curing agent synthesized with this catalyst mainly has the following characteristics:

l It can target and catalyze the reaction of specific active hydrogen functional groups with isocyanate without other side reactions, so as to solve the problems of unstable viscosity and yellow color of curing agent during storage.

  • Good water dispersibility. Based on the higher grafting rate of isocyanate monomer and hydrophilic monomer.

  • High film permeability. Based on the above targeted catalysis, the molecular structure of curing agent is branched.

  • Significantly improve the gloss, fullness, scratch resistance, water resistance and chemical resistance of the paint film.

Based on the above characteristics, the water-based isocyanate curing agent synthesized with special functional catalyst CUCAT-U2 is comparable to imported well-known products in quality.

 

Applications:

The synthesis of water-based isocyanate curing agent. Targetly promote the reaction of isocyanate (monomer or polymer) with specific active hydrogen.

 

User's Guide:

  • It can be added at one time or in several times during the synthesis process. The general dosage is 0.05 ~ 0.2% of the weight of prepolymer.

  • The packaging container must be kept closed during storage, and the opening of the can shall be sealed immediately after use.

 

Handling & Storage:

Product should be stored in a cool, dry environment away from sunlight, excessive heat and rain.

 

Package: 25kg/200kg in HDPE drum

 

Shelf Life: The unopened shelf life is 18 months from the date of manufacture.
