Applications:

It is recommended to be used in various 2K Waterborne Polyurethane Coatings and 2K Waterborne hydroxyl acrylic coatings. It can be directly added into the components of waterborne coatings to improve the quality and reduce the cost.

 

Features & Advantage:

At present, the catalysts used in the waterborne coating system are mainly organic bismuth and organic tin. Because organic bismuth and tin are easy to hydrolyze, the usual solution is to add the catalyst to the curing agent component. Although it can solve the problem of easy hydrolysis of the catalyst, it also leads to a significant decline in the storage stability of the curing agent. AUCAT-101W/201W is an innovative product developed to solve the problems of easy hydrolysis of organic bismuth and tin and poor compatibility with aqueous components. It has the following characteristics:

 

  • Environmental protection. It does not contain tin and VOC, so as to meet the stringent requirements of environmental protection regulations at home and abroad. Organotin, as a catalyst, has always occupied a dominant position in the polyurethane industry, but its toxicity and harm to the environment have attracted extensive attention. In recent years, many environmental protection laws and regulations at home and abroad have strictly restricted organotin, which is tantamount to being banned, which is no longer suitable for market development and demand. Most enterprises have already started their replacement work; It is well known that VOC is harmful to health, and emission control is becoming increasingly stringent. VOC free is the industrial direction.

 

  • Hydrolysis resistance and no failure. It has excellent compatibility with waterborne polymer emulsion and dispersion. It is stable in storage for a long time. It solves the problem of unstable storage in the industry caused by adding catalyst into curing agent components. At present, the catalysts used in the waterborne coating system are mainly organic bismuth and organic tin. Because organic bismuth and tin are easy to hydrolyze, the usual solution is to add the catalyst into the curing agent component. Although it can solve the problem of easy hydrolysis of the catalyst, it is very easy to increase the viscosity of the curing agent or even solidify during storage.

 

  • Eliminate or reduce bubbles, bulges, pitting and other adverse phenomena. In the coexistence system of water and -OH groups, AUCAT-101W/201W selectively catalyzes the reaction between isocyanate and -OH, and the reaction between trace water and isocyanate in the environment is very weak or even not catalyzed, which avoids CO2 produced by chemical reaction. This characteristic is especially suitable for 2K Waterborne Coatings.

 

  • Highly compatible without losing gloss. It has good compatibility with waterborne polymer emulsion and dispersions. The transparency of the paint film is good, and the gloss is not reduced;

  • Long pot life and fast curing. AUCAT-101W has high catalytic activity, the paint film is fast drying; AUCAT-201W has mild catalytic activity. It does not affect the pot life, and can shorten the drying time, It hardly affects the pot life after the mixing of 2K coating. 101W and 201W can be used in any proportion to adjust the activation period and drying speed.

 

  • Improve the properties of water resistance and scratch resistance of paint film. It can promote the further crosslinking reaction between -NCO group and active hydrogen and increase the crosslinking density of paint film.

 

  • The quality is stable under different humidity and temperature. Solve the problems of slow curing and lower quality under the conditions of high humidity in summer and low temperature in winter.

 

  • Water solubility. Good compatibility with water, completely compatible with an appropriate amount of water and transparent.

 

User's Guide:

  • If it is used for two-component polyurethane water-based coating, the general addition amount is 0.1-0.3% of the weight of water-based coating components. 

  • The addition time is usually in the paint mixing stage, and it is not recommended to add in the grinding stage to prevent the catalyst from being adsorbed by the powder and affecting the catalytic effect;

  • The method of adding while dispersing can be adopted. Due to the small amount of addition, it is recommended to add after diluting with alcohol ether (PM) or alcohol ester (dodecyl alcohol) in advance, and then disperse evenly.

  • The packaging container must be kept closed normally. After use, the opening of the container should be sealed.

 

Handling & Storage:

Product should be stored in a cool, dry environment away from sunlight, excessive heat and rain.

Shelf Life: The unopened shelf life is 18 months from the date of manufacture. After shelf life, please do test to make sure the catalytic properties before use.
